March 28th Update
29/03/08 09:21
Hello, Just wanted to give you a look at the freshly
wrapped AZBFN tournament trailer. I recently
closed a deal with All About Signs/Liquid
Wraps and worked with them on the
design. They did a remarkable job.
One of, if not the best I have ever seen.
And it was free. All we have to do is
take a lot of pictures in front of it and with my
background, I can give them a lot of media exposure.
I plan to speak with them about member
discounts in the future, but they already gave us a
lot to begin with. The trailer will be at Big
Bass Days this weekend and at Pleasant in April.
Anyone needing any signage of any kind, or a wrapped
boat, give these guys a shot. They can be
reached at www.allaboutsignsaz.com.
See all the photos.
Steve Peugh will be joining us once again at Pleasant and is recovering from his heart surgery. He is going to run the tournaments without fishing. We appreciate his efforts and welcome him back. We will be meeting at the Federation trailer prior to launching at all future events. Steve will go over the rules, conduct live well checks, and assign boat numbers. Everything will be very smooth with his focus being on the tournament.
I wanted to take a minute to update you on a youth fundraiser that has been underway. The recent budget cuts from BASS eliminated airfare, rooms, food, and transportation for our youth contingency. Up till now the kids received $800 for two plane tickets and everything else was taken care of at the event. BASS has always covered the youth and a parent as we obviously can not send a kid alone. It is solely the states responsibility from here on out. In a gesture from our Alliance partners, we have received specific
product to be used to help raise the youth funds. The adults still get their same free product as well to use for us. All but one Federation supplied item in the youth raffle is from the Alliance. While we could just sit back and pay for the youth from the general account, we are not. I believe in getting the kids involved and working for their paid expenses. They are selling 1000 $5 raffle tickets and have been at the ISE show, Big Bass Days, and other tournaments as well and will be assisting in an open tournament and possibly more. I am not putting the goal of raising $5k per year on the clubs or the general fund. Anyone who wants to help with the tickets, I have some left.
Don't forget there will be an April 16th draw meeting at 7pm at Cabelas upstairs. You must be paired up by the meeting and paid before the draw.
Either use the on-line pay pal set up or send with a rep to the meeting or be there yourself. There was some unfortunate confusion at Martinez and we have made the necessary steps to eliminate the same problems again. Communication can be an issue when you have clubs spread across the state and meetings in which not every club is represented. Let's work together at bettering our communication from the state to the club level. Things are moving in the right direction financially, and within our events. It is
important we keep them going that we as we will soon be preparing to host a divisional of our own. I hope to see you at Pleasant.
