Tournament Report:
Steve P. is back to resume his duties as the tournament director. Steve and one helper will run the remaining tournaments of '08 as follows:
April 19--Pleasant October 4--Alamo, November 8--Roosevelt.
Permits for Pleasant and Roosevelt are ready. Alamo Lake policy has changed; no permit necessary, no limits of tournaments or number of boats allowed, camping is first come and first serve. When and if all camping space is all taken, go home or be creative!
Rangers will get paid and do nothing. Still have to have camping and boating permits. At all tournaments each boat must have live well check and must check in with the check in boat. Live well check will be done by Steve at the ramp; check-in boat location will be announced at the lake. Suggestion was made to meet at
the Federation trailer on the morning of each tournament (at Pleasant we have Ramadas #1 through 6). Make sure to get all the rules for each tournament; pick up assigned boat numbers; and meet your fishing partner if necessary. This will be effective at the next tournament on April 19. Members MUST come to the lake paired; no exception.
Motion made to pay tournament director, Steve, for his travel expenses in '08; motion was approved. Special note:
Off-limit areas mean to not take your boat past OR fish on the other side of the markers.
Conservation Report:
Arizona Game and FIsh Dept. is making a big effort to educate the public on invasive species which are coming into Ariz from out of state. Information will be in the form of billboards, fliers at the lakes, boat checks, etc
On February 26, Don McDowell(of Shake,Rattle and Troll)held a tournament in conjunction with Johnny and Friends(a National organization which helps handicapped individuals enjoy a day out ting, incl using fishing, BarBQ etc.) Special thanks to Don, the organizer and some of Goodyear Bass members that helped out.
