MEETING
NOTES
6/5/07
CALL TO ORDER:
7:00
PM by Vice-President Jeff Mayes
INTRODUCTIONS:
2 Board Members, 7 Attendees (4 clubs
represented)
SECRETARY
REPORT:
No
meeting minutes from last meeting (last month’s
meeting canceled)
TREASURER
REPORT:
Treasurer report and balance
statement was distributed to all members present.
TOURNAMENT
DIRECTOR REPORT:
The
next Tournament for the AZBFN will be held in Oct.
more information to come at a later date as to when
(Location will stay the same at this time). The Oct
tournament date may change due to the fact that the
6-man qualifying teams will be at the club
championship tournament.
CONSERVATION
REPORT:
At
this time there is $1,000.00 in our account that came
from B.A.S.S. to use in any conservation effort. Any
and all ideas welcome. There is a possibility of more
money coming from B.A.S.S. for other efforts, more
information to follow at a later time.
YOUTH REPORT:
The
next scheduled events will be held Saturday and
Sunday 6/16 & 17 at Cabala’s from 10 to 11 am and
2 to 3 pm on both days. Please contact Jeff Foley for
more information. There is also a new youth bass club
sponsored by Valley Bass.
OLD BUSINESS:
The
AZBFN board will be discussing the 2007/2008 budgets
including the trailer and the following year’s
tournament schedule. Please keep looking for great
deals on a trailer.
The 50% off federation boat is still available at
this time. Bids start at $5,000.00 for the right to
buy the boat. Remember that the 2007 requirements
from Triton state that the boat must be 20’ or 21’
footer.
NEW BUSINESS:
The
AZBFN state team finished 2nd overall at the western regional
winning a total of $12,000.00. Congrats to all the
members.
The AZBFN finished 3rd overall in a contest that help to
drive new membership to the federation.
Smith optics has renewed sponsorship and is offering
discounts to all state/Bass club championship team
members. Please call Kip for more information.
Complete marine is again on board as a sponsor.
Please help show your support to them by visiting
them for all your boating needs.
A question again about doing the draw on Wednesday
the week of the tournament, or at a meeting the week
of the tournament.
Comments were made that to go to a paper draw using 3
x 5 cards the night before the tournament.
Issue’s with the by-laws and tournament rules need to
be addressed (will be handled at a board only
meeting)
Comments made to the possibility of holding an open
tournament this summer to help raise funds for the
six man team members, we will also need help in
running this if this should occur.
