Discussions are continuing with G
& F (Jim Warnecke) on Apache (Aug.) fish habitat
improvement program (8 sites). G & F will come to
a meeting to explain. G & F is re-introducing
small mouth fingerlings in Apache Lake. For more
information on conservation issues check the
arizonabassnation WEB Site (Conservation Button).
YOUTH
REPORT:
If your club is holding a Casting
Kids Event, please do it by Oct. 5th. We will hold a State Championship
Casting Kids Event in mid-Oct. Contact Jeff Foley for
assistance in scheduling Casting Kids Events or
creating BASS Kids Clubs.
OLD BUSINESS:
ABA Summer
TMX’s; The ABA
Tournament the NATION ran as a fundraiser has
received good reviews. We will purchase 2 fish
holding tanks for better dead fish control. Intention
is to also experiment with a ‘drive-through’ weigh-in
to help in this area. Assistance on any, or all, of
these TMX’s is requested. Proceeds go to the NATION.
Contact Kip at the BASS NATION WEB Site
(Officers/President Button).
Newsletter;
collecting email
addresses, 1st NATION Newsletter planned for
mid-July.
Local
Sponsors;
‘Please Release Me’ has joined as a sponsor donating
36#’s of product and 100 sample bottles. All should
show their support for this sponsor. Anyone working
on sponsorships should inform Kip so that duplication
of effort doesn’t exist.
Club
Championship;
Information – clubs may have 1 two person team for
each 12 registered members (i.e. 12 members=1 team,
24 members=2 teams, etc.). The state can send up to 6
teams to the regional. At the regional, the top 6
winners from any state progress to the Nationals
(there is no 1 per state rule). The AZ Club
Championship TMX is tentatively scheduled for Dec.
9th
at Bartlett Lake.
NEW
BUSINESS:
Club WEB
Links; we will
supply links from the BASS NATION’S WEB Site to any
club that establishes its own WEB Site.
2007 TMX
Schedule; the
2007 TMX Schedule is in the planning mode. Please
send comments or suggestions to Kip at the BASS
NATION WEB Site (Officers/President Button).
National
Sponsorships;
The State is in the process of signing contracts with
a number of national sponsors. All have requirements
that must be met – marketing, etc. We are making sure
that we can fulfill required commitments.
OPEN
DISCUSSION:
There
have been over 790 visitors to our AZ NATION WEB Site
since its inception.
Problems with fish kills at TMX’s will cause G &
F to get active. We need to improve. Ideas; use bags
that exchange water in conjunction with more fish
tubs and a drive-through weigh-in. Keep the pressure
on the participants.
Clubs should call BASS (Patti at (334) 272-9530) if
experiencing delays with new club packet submissions.
You can receive a ‘proof of insurance’ form for TMX
lake permits on-line at BASS/Forms.
