MEETING NOTES
6/12/06
(Ironworks, 35th and Bell)


CALL TO ORDER: 7:00 PM by President Pollay

INTRODUCTIONS: Officers, Attendees (4 clubs represented)

SECRETARY REPORT:
Meeting Minutes will be posted on the WEB site. Please send corrections/comments to the secretary at the site. Draft forms, by-laws, TMX rules are in progress. Need copies of club’s state registration forms (including boater/non-boater designation)

TREASURER REPORT:
$330 (Fed. Acct.) $600 (Divisional Acct.) Non-profit/incorporation status coming. Club state registrations are coming in. The NATION’s address is; BOX 61182, Phoenix, AZ 85082.

TMX DIRECTOR REPORT:
Position is still not ‘technically’ filled. In the interim we need permits for Oct. 21st (Roosevelt) will request help from Rich, letter from Pleasant Water District for Nov. 18th, permit for Mar. 10th (Havasu). Work on 2007 NATION TMX Schedule must start (collecting other TMX schedules will begin).

CONSERVATION REPORT:
Discussion with G & F (Jim Warnecke) on Apache (Aug.) fish habitat improvement program (8 sites). G & F will come to a meeting to explain. Looking into situation with certain judge’s enforcement policies.

OLD BUSINESS:
Club paperwork assessment; Shake-Rattle-Troll, Prescott, Wickenburg are in (need contacts for all prospective clubs)
Working on getting
’06 TMX schedule out to create interest in NATION events
ABA Summer TMX’s; Meeting to be held on Thur. (6/15) at Sportsman’s Warehouse (I-17 and Yorkshire) to organize 6/24 TMX (7 PM). All volunteers are encouraged to attend this organizational meeting. Other TMX’s are; 7/15, 7/29, 8/12, and 8/26. Assistance on any, or all, of these TMX’s is requested. Proceeds go to the NATION.
Newsletter; collecting email addresses, 1st NATION Newsletter planned in 2-3 weeks.
Local Sponsors; Budget proposal to Triton is in process (for awards and other assistance). Also, Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. Anyone working on sponsorships should inform Kip so that duplication of effort doesn’t exist.

NEW BUSINESS:
Club Championship; need to determine participation levels, decide on state fish-off, subsidy level, specific rules (Kip will get from BASS), etc. Tabled until next meeting for decisions. [MOTION: To hold Championship TMX (PASSED)]

OPEN DISCUSSION:
Need to contact major boat/motor companies for what they can offer. Suggestion; create a committee for ‘Fundraising and sponsorships’
Clubs should call BASS if experiencing delays with new club packet submissions.
You can receive ‘proof of insurance’ form for TMX lake permits on-line at BASS/Forms.
Youth events, etc., go through Jeff Folley.
Shake-Rattle-Troll next meeting on 6/19 (Ironworks – 7PM). Kids club starting.
Club contacts on our WEB Site need to be more visible (and addressable).
Help get out ‘Water Safety’ information to all. 108 water craft deaths in AZ last year.
All clubs should identify new ‘Fed Reps’ at the next meeting.

NEXT MEETING: June 26th, 7:00 PM (come at 6:00 PM for dinner) at the Ironworks 17233 N. 35th Ave. - off Bell Road just past the tennis courts on your right). All interested parties are welcome.
