MEETING MINUTES
Call to Order: 7:00PM by Kip Polley
Introduction: 9 members (one new member) ,5 Board members, 4 Clubs. Note to everyone that we have 120 members and only 9 are present at these meetings with 5 of those being board members. Attend and have some say-so! since a lot of changes are happening and complaints are not allowed if you are not in attendance at meetings.
Secretary Report:
Minutes for all of 2008 are available to members on line.
Treasurer Report:
Expenses: $805.48 Income $3,306.65 Balance available if requested.
Tournament Report: Sept. 20 at Patagonia there is an open Federation Tournament. It is a team tournament; entry fee is $100. per team. Call Don Sebastian for info, 520- 975-3405 or Otto at 520-825-7725.
Conservation Report: Not available at this time
Youth Report: BASS is cutting back across the board on helping with expenses; which includes Jr. BASS. We need to come up with new ways of raising funds to support this and other programs. Sept. 27 and 28 is National Hunting and Fishing Days, which is held at Cabelas in Glendale. Az. BASS Federation Nation will be there to promote the Federation, handing out fliers and being visible to answer questions. Also, a Casting Kids event will be held at the same time. Needed: member turnout in good numbers to help.
Old business:
1. Ken Hurd volunteered to organize the banquet and activities; however, Ken will be leaving town and we therefore need a new person to take this role. This would include finalizing a location, golfing and a raffle. All club presidents will get 1 volunteer to help.
2. Several changes are proposed to the bylaws; too many for details here; will be voted on next meeting. Questions? You better attend the next meeting on Oct. 1st to find the answers.
3. Motion on the floor to raise the membership dues to $30. yearly; motion carried. Tournament entry fees will stay the same but Big Fish option may be eliminated; need club input.
4. Motion made to change the monthly meeting date from first Tuesday to the first Wednesday of the month; motion carried. NEXT MEETING Oct, 1 at 7PM at Cabelas.
5. Each club is required to bring at least one item to raffle off at the Federation banquet in 2009
6, Jeff Guerrette has requested funds to help him prefish before the Nationals in Kansas; Motion carried to accept this request; amount to be determined in 10 days.
