Arizona B.A.S.S. Nation Update October 23rd
Oct/23/06 08:30
Congratulations are in order for the team of Doug Noble and Charles Palmer for winning the Roosevelt Qualifier this past weekend. The rest of the details and standings will be in the newsletter and on the website as soon as our Webmaster Jeff Foley is out of the hospital and up to posting the information. Jeff is recovering in a Tucson hospital bed and scheduled to be released by mid-week. He is in good spirits considering his recent surgery but keep him in your prayers. All in all, the first Qualifier went well except for some registration trouble Friday night. I apologize for the delayed draw but we found ourselves short handed, with two board members not present due to prior commitments and health problems. Registration was to be manned by a three-man team. Don had paperwork and money coming at him from all directions and did the best he could. We have addressed our process in which to help smooth things out and you can really help us as well by completing all registration forms, meaning both the boater and non-boaters info filled out and money in hand, before signing in. We will not take partially filled out forms next time. People were filling out half of a form, then their partner comes in an hour later and puts two names on a separate form, and all of a sudden we have a name input twice. We won’t have this problem again if everyone cooperates. I expected to have a couple areas to iron out but nothing was critical. Also please partner up at these events. This too simplifies the pairing process. If you need help, let me know. Our next meeting is at Iron Works, (one block north on 45th Ave. off of Bell Rd.), Monday November 6th at 7pm. Board members try to be there at 6pm. The next Qualifier is November 18th at Lake Pleasant. The details on registration etc. will be released soon. Please support these events as the money raised supports you in return.
