About The Arizona BASS Federation Nation
The Arizona State B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is a chapter of the National B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
The AZ Federation Nation is made up of BASS affiliated clubs throughout the state of Arizona. To be a member of the Federation Nation you must first be a member of a BASS affiliated club in the state of Arizona. (Club listing here.)
The AZ Federation Nation exists to select the Arizona State Team through a series of four draw tournaments each year. It also participates in various charities, sportsman's conservation initiatives and children's programs namely CastingKids.
Join the Arizona Bass Federation Nation
Joining the AZ Federation Nation is easy. Ths is what you need to do:
- Review the membership requirements below along with the membership benefits.
- You will first need to join a club. The clubs and contact information can be found here.
- When you sign up to join a club, they will collect your AZ Federation Nation, and BASS Federation Nation dues. Once you do that you are a member of the AZ Federation. At that time you begin to receive membership benefits.

The Arizona B.A.S.S Federation Nation was established to provide an association between anglers for the advancement of the sport of fishing, the enjoyment of competition between friends, and the appreciation of our natural environment. As a group, the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is dedicated to the good fellowship of our members, the sport of bass fishing, and the goodwill of our community.
Membership Requirements:
- Membership in the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is open to persons over sixteen (16) years of age.
- All members of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation are required to be members in good standing of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S.).
- All members are required to pay the annual membership fees of Thirty-five ($35.00). Twenty ($20.00) will go towards the National dues and fifteen ($15.00) will go towards state dues and must have a current membership card and subscription to B.A.S.S. magazine.
Membership Benefits:
Members in good standing of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation
- Are eligible to fish in Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation tournaments.
- Are eligible to receive any yearly awards and prizes for which they qualify.
- Are eligible for any privileges or discounts negotiated for our members.
- Who are also members in good standing of B.A.S.S., receive liability insurance during any Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation sponsored event.
- Who are also members in good standing of B.A.S.S., are also given membership in the National Bass Federation of Anglers and are eligible following rights and privileges pertaining to members of this organization. Included in these benefits is a Subscription to B.A.S.S. Times Magazine.
Membership Fees:
The membership fee for the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is thirty-five ($35.00) dollars per year. The fee is due and payable upon application and is good for the period of January 1st through December 31st. The membership expires on December 31st of each year, regardless of when the fee is paid. The fee is not prorated if paid after the beginning of the tournament year. No part of the membership fee is refundable if a member voluntarily leaves the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation during the tournament season (January 1st – December 31st).
Loss Of Membership Benefits:
Members of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation will be considered members not in good standing and will lose all membership benefits if they fail to meet the membership requirements as listed. Members who are not in good standing will be reinstated without prejudice once they have met the membership requirements. Members who fail to meet the membership requirements by the end of the tournament year, for which they have paid fees, will lose all membership benefits for that year and will forfeit their membership dues.
Members Expelled For Cause:
A member and or club in good standing in the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation may be expelled for the following:
- Gross negligence or conduct that results in death or injury to any person or persons or destruction of property.
- Violation of law or statute during any Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation sponsored event.
- Flagrant violation (cheating, gross misconduct, operating under the influence etc) of any tournament rule(s) as determined by the governing board of Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
- The following procedure must be followed in order to expel a member and or club in good standing of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
- The governing board of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation will review any motion to expel a person and or club and vote on the motion at the next meeting.
Reinstatement Of Members and or Clubs Expelled For Cause:
Reinstatement of a member and or club expelled for cause can be accomplished by following the same procedure as required for expulsion. However, reinstatement requests will not be accepted during the same tournament year as the original expulsion.
Governing Board:
A board of elected club officers shall govern the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Tournament Director, Webmaster and Assistant Tournament Director. The “governing board” of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is it’s elected officers, collectively.
Eligibility:
A person must be a member in good standing of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation for one (1) year prior to be eligible for any position on the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation governing board. If possible, a member should fill the positions of President, Vice President or Tournament Director with at least one (1) year prior service on the governing board of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
Election:
The officers of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation will be elected by the membership every other year. The nominations for club officers will be accepted at the regularly scheduled October club meeting. Any member can make nominations for club officers.
- Officers hold their elected offices for the term of two (2) years, unless they resign sooner. If a vacancy should occur after the scheduled election, an appointee of the club president will fill the vacated post. The person appointed by the president to fill any vacancy must be approved by a majority vote of the governing board. Elections for a position on the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Board will be held in November, nominations for positions will be made at the October meeting.
Responsibilities:
President:
- Presides over club meetings: sets the agenda, maintains order, controls the debates, and presides over all elections.
- Appoints committee chairpersons, and assigns their duties. Supervises and monitors the progress of the committees and receives their reports.
- Makes appointments to fill vacant offices in the club.
- The President Elect for the coming term of office may appoint a Member-At-Large in good standing within general eligibility for the office of Secretary and Treasurer. If made, this appointment must be confirmed by a simple majority vote of the governing board. Otherwise, a qualified person will be elected from the general membership.
- The Vice President takes the President’s place and fulfills his duties, when the President is not present.
- The Vice President is the club membership chairman, and is responsible for the annual membership drive.
- Presides over all aspects of Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation tournaments, including setting launch and weigh-in times and sites, and designating off-limits areas.
- Interprets and rules on all observed or reported violations of Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation tournament rules.
- Acts as “Weigh-master” for all Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation tournaments.
- Procures all necessary permits and documents for all Tucson Bass Club tournaments and events.
- Maintains the club’s financial records, issues checks and maintains the club’s checking account.
- Handles the tournament registrations and maintains the payout records.
- Submits monthly balance reports to members and the governing board.
- Maintains the club membership roster, and provides updated membership information to B.A.S.S. and the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
- Maintains the records of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation. These include meeting minutes and attendance, special event participation, and tournament results.
- Maintains regular correspondence with the member chapters
- Maintains up to date B.A.S.S. numbers of all members in the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation.
- Prepares and distributes the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation newsletter.
- Responsible for ensuring the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation website is up to date.
- Responsible for all the duties of the Tournament Director in his/her absence.
- Assists the Tournament Director with conducting the tournament including assistance with weigh-in.
Removal Of Officers: Any officer may be removed from office by a simple majority vote of the Board upon 30-day prior notice.
Amendment Procedure:
Amendments to this document may be made by the following procedure:
- Proposed amendments or changes must be submitted in writing to an elected official.
- The governing board prior to the next club meeting will review the proposed amendment or change.
- If a majority of the board agrees, the proposed amendment will be brought up at the next club meeting for debate by the membership. After the debate, the membership present at the meeting will vote on whether to present the proposed amendment for
- Approval of the entire membership. A majority vote of members is sufficient to present the amendment.
- The club secretary will prepare a copy of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Bylaws and Rules indicating the proposed amendment for dissemination to the members. This will be E-mailed to members in good standing of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation
- A 2/3 majority of members in good standing of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is required to approve the amendments.
Final authority for the interpretation of all Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Bylaws shall rest with the governing board. Changes to the Bylaws may be made by a simple majority vote of the governing board after a thirty (30) day written notice to all Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Board Members.
