Lake Pleasent Tournament Update 2

A final reminder that Wednesday is the draw for pairing for the Pleasant Tournament on April 19th at Lake Pleaseant. Thank you to everyone that has sent me the information that I needed. If you are still waiting to fish this tournament and need a partner let me know asap, your entry fees need to be in by wednesday night before the draw. I believe that there are 2 non-boaters out there looking to be paired.

Also if you did not hear there will be another tournament going on this weekend. I think that Rinker is there also. We will still be meeting at ramdaes # 1 thru # 6. Please all be at the federations trailers as soon as possible and have everything ready to go. The trailer will be open around 4am, please check in. We would like to get everyone on the water and launched before they do.

Lake Pleasent Tournament Update

Anyone fishing the Pleasant Qualifier is urged to show up early.  There is a Rinker/C-Mex tournament there with us that is expecting 300 boats.  They do not launch at once, and in fact will be launching from various parts of the lake at various times, but we should be to the buoy line at the marina staged and ready so we can get a jump on it.  The draw meeting is Wednesday at Cabelas 7pm and the trailer will be set up for lake check-in by 4am.  The quicker we check-in the quicker we get rolling.
Kip

Lake Pleasant Tournament Information

Just a reminder that next Wednesday will be the draw for the Pleasant tournament, please have your entry fees and paperwork turned in by then. At this time I am in need of a boater that is not paired.

If you are already paired please e-mail me your names so that I can have all the paperwork filled out and ready for the draw. This will help things go faster.

I am in need of a boater for the Pleasant Tournament. I have a non-boater that is looking for a boater. Please if you are planning to fish and need a sign up partner let me know ASAP.

Thank you

Don Sebastian

April Tournament Information

To all members,

The next tournament for the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation Nation is April 19th. The draw will be held on April 16th, please have both names on the sign up sheet and have your entries paid on or before April 16th. If you are needing help in finding a partner please contact your club President. Also please send me your name and partners name so as I can fill out all the information needed.

As Kip has stated Steve Peugh will be back running the tournaments, again I would like to thank Rich Stringer for the job he has done in the absence of Steve helping to run the tournaments.

The information about the Lake Pleasant tournament will be given out at the meeting on the 16th. After the meeting on the 16th I will post the pairing as soon as possible along with the rules, off limits or any other information at that time. The same information will then be given out at the lake the morning of the tournament.

Any questions please feel free to call me,

March 28th Update

Hello, Just wanted to give you a look at the freshly wrapped AZBFN tournament trailer.  I recently closed a deal with All About Signs/Liquid Wraps and worked with them on the
cast kids 228
design.  They did a remarkable job.  One of, if not the best I have ever seen.  And it was free.  All we have to do is take a lot of pictures in front of it and with my background, I can give them a lot of media exposure.  I plan to speak with them about member discounts in the future, but they already gave us a lot to begin with.  The trailer will be at Big Bass Days this weekend and at Pleasant in April. Anyone needing any signage of any kind, or a wrapped boat, give these guys a shot.  They can be reached at www.allaboutsignsaz.com. See all the photos.

Steve Peugh will be joining us once again at Pleasant and is recovering from his heart surgery.  He is going to run the tournaments without fishing.  We appreciate his efforts and welcome him back.  We will be meeting at the Federation trailer prior to launching at all future events.  Steve will go over the rules, conduct live well checks, and assign boat numbers. Everything will be very smooth with his focus being on the tournament.

I wanted to take a minute to update you on a youth fundraiser that has been underway.  The recent budget cuts from BASS eliminated airfare, rooms, food, and transportation for our youth contingency.  Up till now the kids received $800 for two plane tickets and everything else was taken care of at the event.  BASS has always covered the youth and a parent as we obviously can not send a kid alone.  It is solely the states responsibility from here on out.  In a gesture from our Alliance partners, we have received specific
product to be used to help raise the youth funds.  The adults still get their same free product as well to use for us.  All but one Federation supplied item in the youth raffle is from the Alliance.  While we could just sit back and pay for the youth from the general account, we are not.  I believe in getting the kids involved and working for their paid expenses. They are selling 1000 $5 raffle tickets and have been at the ISE show, Big Bass Days, and other tournaments as well and will be assisting in an open tournament and possibly more.  I am not putting the goal of raising $5k per year on the clubs or the general fund.  Anyone who wants to help with the tickets, I have some left.

Don't forget there will be an April 16th draw meeting at 7pm at Cabelas upstairs.  You must be paired up by the meeting and paid before the draw.
Either use the on-line pay pal set up or send with a rep to the meeting or be there yourself.  There was some unfortunate confusion at Martinez and we have made the necessary steps to eliminate the same problems again. Communication can be an issue when you have clubs spread across the state and meetings in which not every club is represented.  Let's work together at bettering our communication from the state to the club level.  Things are moving in the right direction financially, and within our events.  It is
important we keep them going that we as we will soon be preparing to host a divisional of our own.  I hope to see you at Pleasant.

Good Fishin',
Kip Pollay

Parings for Martinez here

Important Information to All Members

FYI, when your clubs pays your state dues they should send a list to Mike Hoffarth with the money and a updated club roster with all members name, address, phone numbers, BASS number, Expire date, what they are (Boater / Non-Boater) and an e-mail address if possible. The club also needs to send in monies to Ma BASS for there national dues with the proper paper work. Once this has been checked I will then update the system to show that the club and its members and current.   If you are having problems or concers with this call me at 520-975-3405 or e-mail me.  I have tried to get everyones e-mail address up to date, if some of the members are not getting any information and I do not have there e-mail address or the correct one please let me know so as I can add them.   I try to be as updated as possible with everyones information, but as you all know mistakes do happen.   As you all now have heard the Feb 23rd Tournament has been change to Martinez. As Kip has stated that back in Jan the members were looking to go to Rosy (Permit pending) however at this time the permit was not issued and Martinez was the back up. With Steve Peugh out (at this time - with major surgey - get well soon) Rich Stringer has stepped up to help out (Thank you Rich for your help). Rich knows how to go about getting permits and knows the people at these lakes (has he deals with them all of the time).    Yes the lake might clear up in the next week or so, however that does not change the fact about the permit. I know that some of you have reserved  rooms at Rosy (Non-Refundable) and have been practing for this tmx and for that I am sorry that the change was made. Kip and the other board members try there best to help everyone that is part of this federation. This is not easy sometimes and I myself would not want to put someone or there equipment an any danger.   Now on to the tournament, if you would please let me know if you are planning to fish Martinez and who your partner is, that would help in getting the draw going for the Feb 20th meeting.      If you have any questions or comments please let me know,   Don Sebastian

Update: February Tournament Information

Kip called me this morning and asked me to send you all an update regarding the Feb 23rd tournament. This tournament has been changed from Roosevelt Lake to Martinez (same Date) this change was due in part to the debris that is in Roosevelt Lake at this time and the poor fish catch count at this time. Acting tournament director Rich Stringer will inform us of other updates.
