CALL TO ORDER:

SECRETARY
REPORT:
September Meeting Minutes read as
per on line
Please be reminded that all B.A.S.S. numbers must be
current to fish the federation nation tournaments, if
you are not current you will not be fishing the
tournament. Please check those
numbers.
TREASURER
REPORT:
Current Balance of $19,150.50 with
the purchase of Trailer and necessary equipment.
Clubs dues are due any time ($15.00 per member)
TOURNAMENT
DIRECTOR REPORT:
Next
tournament at Pleasant on Oct 20th, the location will be at the main
marine south ramp, draw time at 7pm and location will
be in the area of the southern Ramada’s (near the
sailboats)(more information to follow). The November
Tournament has been changed from Bartlett to Alamo on
the 17th
(again more information
to follow).
The 2008 Tournament might have a few changes in
location and time due to permit issues, they are as
follows, the third qualifier in May will be on the
17th
and not the
24th
this will be held at
Bartlett Lake instead of Roosevelt Lake, the fifth
qualifier of 2008 on November 8 will be held at
Roosevelt Lake instead of Bartlett Lake. These
changes are contingent on permits and insurance
issues.
CONSERVATION
REPORT:
The
Arizona B.A.S.S Federation Nation donated $1,000.00
to Arizona Game and Fish to help with lake
improvement at Apache and the other Salt River lakes.
Motion made and seconded to donate another $1,000.00
to United Arizona Anglers Foundation, they would in
turn match the $1,000.00. Motion passed 6 to 2. The
Next Arizona Game and Fish round table meeting on Oct
15th
at 6pm at the B.A.S.S.
Pro Shops, located in the Phoenix area.
YOUTH REPORT:
Travis
Polley (7-10) and Chance Kohnke (11-14) won their
Casting Kids age group class (Congrats to all kids
their). The 2007 Junior B.A.S.S Master Championship
will be held on October 21st (Sunday) at Lake Pleasant, they are
needing six (6) boats if you can help please contact
Kip. The clubs that have a junior club would need to
get together to look into the Junior Championship and
have a meeting for next year schedule.
OLD
BUSINESS:
Ken Hurd (who is heading up the banquet on January
26, 2008) would like for each club to possibly send
in $250.00 in cash or $250.00 worth of merchandise
(If at all possible, understanding that some clubs
have limited members). The will be a golf Tournament
on the morning of January 26th ($35.00 per head for Golf) we need
a count of members and guests who would like to golf
and who would be there for the banquet (more
information will be made at the next meeting).
The proposed changes for the 2008 By-laws and
Tournament rules were brought up for vote.
NEW BUSINESS:
On the
changes for the 2008 By-Laws, there were two proposed
changes 1st clubs must have a representative at
50% of the monthly state meeting and
2nd
the changes made to the
governing board of the Arizona B.A.S.S. Federation
Nation. Both changes passed 8-0.
The changes for the 2008 Tournament rules were voted
on and the following changes will be made for the
2008 season.
1st
the draw for team
pairing will be held at the Wednesday monthly meeting
prior to the tournament, The draw will be done openly
at the meeting. This passed on a vote of 6-2
2nd
Late fees will not be
accepted, if entries are not in by Wednesday the week
of the tournament you will not be entered into the
drawing.
3rd
Boat operation and
expense (This rule applies in draw tournaments only
and not in the team format (please read)). This pass
on a vote of 8-0
4th
All competitors may
fish the designated tournament lake until midnight
prior to the tournament day. This pass on a vote of
8-0
5th
Weigh-in procedure-
Contestants are required to use the weigh bags
provided by the Arizona B.A.S.S Federation Nation
only. This passed on a vote of 8-0
6th
Final points for the
year in the Angler and Co-Angler changes,
1st
highest place finish
points will be used-if also a tie,
2nd
heaviest bag will break
tie-if also a tie, a flip of a coin will break all
ties. This passed on a vote of 8-0
Also as a reminder the state team will be made up of
6 boater and 6 non-boaters, this will be based on all
tournaments fished with 1 (one) throw-out.
State team will be comprised of 6 boaters and 6
non-boaters throught the year with on throw outs.
The revised rules
will be posted on the web site, please look these
over. These changes will be effective starting
NOVEMBER 2007, FOR THE 2007 – 2008 SEASON.
