August 2007 Update

Just a reminder that the next State level Federation Nation meeting is Tuesday, August 7th, at Iron Works (one block north of Bell Rd. on 45th Ave). We will start at 7pm. This is an important meeting as we will be looking over the current bylaws and tournament rules and preparing proposed changes. The bylaws/tournament rules in place were done rather fast as we were re-building the Nation at that time and we may need to address some areas. Assuming we have proposed changes, they will then be put together and distributed at the September meeting. If there is to be a vote for revised changes it will be done at the October meeting. I would like to see someone from every club at these meetings if at all possible or you will have to accept what changes come.

July 2007 Update

Hello all,

Before I get into some Federation Nation updates, I want to remind everyone once again that the monthly meeting is Tuesday (July 10th) at Iron Works which is one block north of Bell Rd. on 45th Ave.  The meeting begins at 7pm.  Unfortunately I may be late at best as I am coaching a little league all-star team in Scottsdale with a 5:30 start.  When we moved the meeting back a week due to the 4th, I knew this may be tough for me but Jeff Mayes will get the ball rolling.  Word has it that we may have another club joining the Nation at this meeting.  Read More...

June 2007 Federation Nation Update

Though the summer months tend to be a little slow for us, I just wanted to update you all on some late news and upcoming plans for your Federation Nation. I guess it is safe to say we are no longer a new organization hustling to put the needed funding in the bank. Thanks to a lot of hard work by volunteers, the 50% annual boat, the Qualifier tournaments, raffles, and of course our State Team earnings, we are ahead of where we projected. Your Federation Nation Board members will be conducting some board only meetings during the summer months where we will be developing a budget and cleaning up some of the loose ends from our first complete season as the AZBFN. Things moved fast and the hours were long but everything is leveling off now. Read More...

March 22 Update

Hey guys We would like to have all of the state team at the Glendale youth fishing tournament at lake Pleasant on March 31. Rich needs as many volunteers as he can get. I would also like to have a meeting to make sure everyone is paired up for travel to and from the lake and also for pre fishing. In years past all of the state team needed to do at least one event to be eligible for the team wether it be lake conservation, involved in youth tournament , kids casting or special events like the cast or dare tournaments. We are trying to find out if that requirement is still in place. I would strongly recommend to do a event to cover yourself. You do not want to wait till the last minute you could lose your spot on the team, it did happen in past years. During the official practice days we will be alternating the non boaters with the boaters so we will be fishing with different people each day. We are trying to get a official schedule from the hosting federation. Every one does need to be at the registration on time. The registration may be as early as Saturday the 5th but will probably be Sunday the 6th. I will let you know as soon as we find out. If you have any questions please give me a call @602-525-3128.

March 4 Update

Just a reminder that the monthly meeting is Tuesday at 7pm at Iron Works. We will goo over the monies raised by divisional anglers who fished out of Tritons, along with other sponsor perks, plus we have a guest speaker who wants to discuss the impact of a proposed new marina at Pleasant. The Federation Nation does not have a stance on this subject which has been aired on AZbasszone, etc. It is just an opportunity to hear the side of the Protect Lake Pleasant coalition. I hope most clubs will be represented.

Thanks, Kip Pollay

Federation Update 1/16/07

Q1 is the 17th at Martinez. Fish should be on the beds I am told. Could be some awesome bags. We will meet Friday night at the ramada at Fishers Landing or possibly the restaurant if they let us in. Registration is from 5-7 Friday night. Anyone who can't be there in time or until Saturday morning must have their entry fees and registration in by 7 PM Friday night. We will draw as close to 7:30 as we can. Mail your entries to the state PO Box, Arizona BASS Federation Nation, BOX 61182 Phoenix, AZ 85082, or send them with a fellow clubber if you will be late. We will be sharing the ramp Saturday with another tournament in which Rich Stringer runs so we want to get in early as we are being released first. We will then come in ahead of the other group and Rich will run us through his scales along with Steve Peugh. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Anyone needing a sign up partner let us know ASAP.
